Hurray! Lucky has come home! I had the
opportunity to buy him back and jumped on it. Once
again Lucky is my "mane" man! Lucky was our
breeding stallion, and my trail horse, from age 2 to 7.
At age 7 he was gelded and he went to a 7 yr old girl in
Arizona who needed a good first horse. Now, at age 12,
Lucky has come back to Kentucky to hit the trails with
me again - yeehaw!
Lucky is 15 hands tall and is triple
registered as Missouri Fox Trotter,
Curly Horse, and Spotted Saddle
Horse. Even as a stallion he had a
sweet, gentle personality. He is an
awesome trail horse with natural
square fox trot, smooth ground
covering rack, and nice easy canter.
Introducing... This beauty is
Sunrise Misty B. I just bought Misty to
breed to a Curly Fox Trotter stallion
who is a son of Lucky. (our former
stallion, DCC Vegas).
Better photos coming soon.
Misty is a 14.3 hand palomino and is a registered Missouri Fox Trotter. She is a direct daughter of the
great stallion Southern Sunrise. She has awesome conformation and I can't wait to see what she
produces.
Misty is broke to trail ride and drive... as a matter of fact she was used as part of a 4 horse team to pull a
stagecoach in parades. She's a quiet natured, and sweet mare but very smart. Which is why she wears
a neck chain (a trick I learned from a South Dakota rancher). I was told by Misty's former owner that
she can be hard to catch if she sees you carrying a halter. The plastic neck chain is safe (it will break if
it snags on something) but it is strong enough that when I hold it, she knows she is caught. Hopefully,
when she has been here for a couple of weeks, she'll be retrained and the neck chain will no longer be
necessary.
